Jerry Huntley died Friday, January 8, 2021 at CCM Health in Montevideo at the age of 81.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM at The Refuge Church in Montevideo.  Pastor Sam Kautz will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

A walk though visitation will be held on Friday, January 15 from 5-7 PM at the Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.  COVID 19 guidelines and social distancing will be followed.

Jerry Keith Huntley was born May 18, 1939 at Hancock, MN the son of Loren and Lillian (Eckstein) Huntley. The whole family was baptized together at their farm near Cyrus.  He was confirmed at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Cyrus.  He attended Cyrus High School.   He served in the US Army from 1959 - 1961 with Co. A 76th combat engineers in Kimpo, South Korea.  After his discharge in 1965 from the Army Reserve he lived in St. Paul. Jerry was united in marriage with Marilyn Swenson October 12, 1968 at the Kensington Covenant Church.  They made their home in St. Paul and Kensington before moving to Montevideo. Jerry was an inspector at Friendship Homes in Montevideo for many years. Jerry was a member of the United Methodist Church in Montevideo.  He enjoyed going to their lake home and loved fishing. He also enjoyed deer and goose hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; three children: Kimberly (Thomas) Thurk of St. Bonifacius, Merrilee (Neal) Benally of Tea, SD, and Shawn (Kim Moe) Huntley of Montevideo; eight grandchildren: Andrew, Vanessa, and Anthony Thurk, Andrew Ross, Ian and Isaac Benally, and Elijah and Lucas Huntley; one brother, Robert (Peggy) Huntley of Hoffman, MN; two sisters: Shirley (Jimmy) Alfson of Ham Lake, MN and Sandee (Jim) Bates of Inver Grove Heights, MN; brothers-in-law: Harvey Weisel and Roger (Pam) Swenson; sisters-in-law: Mary Huntley and Sharon Swenson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents;  twin sister, Janice Larson; sister, Beverly Weisel; brother, Burton Huntley; mother and father-in-law: Arleigh and Grace Swenson; and in-laws: Betty and Orin Turnquist,  Dennis Swenson, and David Larson.
