Jerry Nelson, of Clayton, WI and formerly of Montevideo died on June 20, 2006 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN at the age of 81.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 11:00 AM at St. Josephs Catholic Parish in Montevideo with Fr. Jim Devorak the celebrant. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the Mass of Saturday at the church.
Jerry Galen Nelson was born on February 9, 1925 in St. Paul, MN to Henry B. and Goldie (Coy) Nelson. When he was 5, he moved to Montevideo with his family, graduating from Montevideo High School in 1944. He attended Hamline University in St. Paul. He worked for the Elliot Film Company in Minneapolis for 25 years. Since the 1970's he operated a vintage film business, collecting and selling vintage films.
He is survived by his beloved dog, Brittany Marie; by nieces and nephews: John (Connie) Zasada and Theodore (Connie) Zasada, both of Clayton, WI, Janice Renfro and Constance Lockwood, both of Lewisville, TX, and Roseann (Mark) Lyczak of Flower Mound, TX; as well as by a number of great and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Vernajean Zasada and her husband John Zasada.
