J. Gerald Undlin died on January 3, 2003 at the Milbank Area Hosapital in Milbank, SD at the age of 93.
Committal services will be conducted on Friday, January 10, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo.
Jerry Gerald Undlin was born on February 2, 1909 in Appleton., MN to John G. and Anna (Vold) Undlin. He grew up in the Madison and Milan, MN areas, was a member of Lac Qui Parle Lutheran and Kviteseid Lutheran Churches and graduated from Milan High School. He attended the University of Minnesota and studied Agriculture. Following the completion of his studies, he worked as the county agent in Mayville, ND and as an ag instructor in several schools in North Dakota and Minnesota, including Granite Falls. He was united in marriage to Margaret Williams on December 26, 1939 in the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. Following his retirement they settled on a ranch near Park Rapids, MN. He was a resident of the Madison Lutheran Home for several years and was currently a resident at the Milbank Nursing Home. He enjoyed gardening and would put squash and pumpkins around shocks of corn to feed the deer and squirrels in the winter. Jerry was a good friend to everyone. He enjoyed fishing and taking home movies.
He is survived by sisters: Ellen Anderson and Margaret Stene of Seattle, WA; a sister-in-law, Vera Undlin of Golden Valley, MN; as well as by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret in 1993; three brothers: Glenn, Lyle and Eldon Undlin; and one sister, Lyla Hovick.
