Jessie Aeikens, formerly of Montevideo, died on Monday, July 5, 1999 at the Clara City Nursing Home at the age of 85.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, July 9, 1999 at 10:30 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Lois Knutson officiating. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Clara City.
Jessie Marie (Christians) Aeikens was born on March 29, 1914 in Clara City, MN to John and Ida (Gerdes) Christians. She was baptized and confirmed at Clara City Lutheran Church and attended Clara City Schools. On November 30, 1933 she was united in marriage to Ben D. Aeikens in Clara City. They lived in the Clara City area until moving to Montevideo in 1951. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and it’s Martha Circle. She was currently a resident of the Clara City Nursing Home.
She is survived by children - Donna (James) Peerboom of Rochelle, IL; Donald (Peggy) Aeikens of Minneapolis, MN; Kenneth (Janice) Aeikens of Benson, MN; Rodney Christians of Willmar, MN; Shirley (Lyle) Tollefson of Minneapolis, MN; John ( Caron) Aeikens of Sacred Heart, MN; Dennis ( Melva) Aeikens of Montevideo; Wayne (Jeannine) Aeikens of Sycamore, IL; Leona Aeikens of Willmar, MN; Joanne (Richard) Gliesman of Courtland, IL; Elaine (Larry) Anacleto of Lemoore, CA; Patricia Aeikens of Lemoore, CA; and James (Diane) Aeikens of Morris, MN; 33 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandchild; a brother - George Christians of Ontario, CA and a special friend - Frank Brunner of Montevideo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ben in 1963, an infant daughter - Beverly, a great grandchild , one brother - Enno Christians and a sister - Helen Smith.
