Jill (Sulflow) Darrington

Jill Darrington, of Montevideo, died on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 68.  Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 1:30 PM at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Donald S. McKee officiating.  Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening with the family being present from 5 - 7 PM and with a prayer service at 7:00 PM    at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Marilyn Jill (Sulflow) Darrington was born on November 22, 1938 in Montevideo, MN to Harold and Fern (Schaller) Sulflow.  She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City and graduated from Maynard High School in 1956. She lived most of her life in Montevideo, where she had been a cook at Sanford School for a number of years and involved with the migrant program. She was a dietary aide at Luther Haven for the past 18 years before retiring in February of 2006. She was a long-time member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and active in circle and was also a member of a cancer support group in Montevideo. She enjoyed shopping, crafts, going to church suppers, canning, baking, going to garage sales, watching movies and being with her friends.  Her greatest joys were spending time with her children and grandchildren and following their activities.

She is survived by five children: Beverly Olson and her husband Bill of Montevideo, Gary Ostendorf and friend  Jodie Peterson of Montevideo, Susan Stevens and her husband Bob of Hazel Run, MN, Kristi Runyon and her husband Brad of Champlin, MN and Angela Thompson and her husband Dale of Cloquet, MN; thirteen grandchildren: Derek, Ryan, Cameron, Trista, Jerod, Danielle, Gena, Jordan, Adam, Luke, Tyler, Tanner and Leah; and two sisters-in-law: Darlene Sulflow of Montevideo and Nola Sulflow of Clara City, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by two brothers: Mark Sulflow and John (Jack) Sulflow.
