Joann Holte

Joann (Ketelsen) Holte, formerly of Montevideo, died Tuesday, December 31, 2024 in Portland OR at the age of 85.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 12:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo with Rev. Donald S. McKee officiating.

Joann Anite (Ketelsen) Holte was born December 28, 1939 in Montevideo, MN the daughter of George and Elise (Schoening) Ketelsen.  She was baptized and confirmed at Clarkfield Lutheran Church and graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1957.  She was united in marriage with Jan Holte and they later moved to Oregon so he could pursue his dream of fishing.  They were married for 37 years.  Joann worked at an accounting firm, Jones & Roth, until she retired in 2000.  She was very active at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hillsboro.  She enjoyed Tole painting, crocheting outfits for small dolls, and playing piano and accordion.

She is survived by her son, Dan of Portland, OR; two step-grandchildren: Aunna and Andrew Johnson; a sister, Joyce Meier; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Robert Ketelsen; a sister, Phyllis (Jim) VanBinsbergen; and a nephew Don VanBinsbergen.
