Joann Thune

JoAnn Thune died Sunday, January 28, 2024 at her home in Montevideo at the age of 69.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.  Rev. Marie Eckberg will officiate and interment will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-6:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home and for one hour before the service.

JoAnn Karen Thune was born on July 6, 1954 in Montevideo to Ingman and Margaret (Anderson) Olson.  She grew up in Montevideo and attended school, graduating from Montevideo High School in 1972.   JoAnn would work as a bartender and waitress at the Watson Liquor Store, Montevideo County Club, Milan Legion and Moldy’s in Maynard.  She married Don Thune in 1984.  When she was not working JoAnn enjoyed golfing and gardening.  She was also a very big fan of the Minnesota Vikings football team.

JoAnn is survived by her siblings: Susan (Reed) Quenemoen, Willmar, MN, Donald Olson, Vadnais Heights, MN, Vicki (Calvin) Grussing, Carver, MN, Nancy Wohlleber, Willmar, MN, Kathy (Richard) Hanson, Liberal, KS and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents;  husband, Don Thune; brothers, Richard, David; brother-in-law, Keith Wohlleber; and special friend, Darrell Molden.
