Joanne Wilking, formerly of Montevideo, died on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital at the age of 83.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Christopher Lieske officiating. Interment will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015 from 9:30am - 10:30am at the Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Jacqueline Joanne Wilking (Pearson) was born August 12, 1931 in St. Paul, MN. She moved with her family to Montevideo where she grew up and attended school. Joanne was confirmed in 1945 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Early in her life she worked at the Hollywood Theater in Montevideo. She married Clarence Wilking in 1951. They had three boys together: Steven, David and Gregg. Joanne enjoyed crocheting as a hobby as well as word puzzles and garage sales. Joanne moved to Cedar Crest Assisted Living in Silver Lake, MN about one year ago. She would follow her grandchildren and great- grandchildren on Facebook with her Kindle. Joanne enjoyed keeping up with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and seeing pictures of their activities with family and friends.
Joanne is survived by her sons: David (Lorena) Wilking,of Morris, MN and Gregg (Sara) Wilking of Montevideo, MN; her grandchildren: Stephanie (Brian)Fritzgerald of Hutchinson, MN, Larry Wilking of Woodlake, MN, Tony (Tanya) Wilking of Colorado Springs, CO, Tara (Brian) Dawson of Benson, MN and Kelli Wilking of Clarkfield, MN; great-grandchildren: Logan, Madison, Gavin, Austin, Haley, Samantha, Jack, Amy Jo, Abby, Kalli, and Madison; a sister Mae Huebner of Montevideo; and many other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle Pearson; a twin brother, James; a son, Steven; and a special friend Elmer Gottschalk.
