John W. Albrecht

John W. Albrecht died peacefully early Friday morning, May 17, 2019 at his home in rural Montevideo at the age of 76.

Private services were held.

John Wendell Albrecht was born in Montevideo October 7, 1942 the son of C.A. “Bud” and Ardyce (Bremseth) Albrecht.  He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  He attended Montevideo schools and graduated in 1960.  Following high school, he  took some banking classes in the Twin Cities.  He was united in marriage with Sandra Sue Johnson June 29, 1963 at the Methodist Church in Appleton.  They made their home in Montevideo where John worked at Northwestern State Bank until the late 1970's.  They moved to the farm in the early 1990's.  John ran two businesses with his family for many years: Springs of  Living Water and Chippewa Valley Heavenly Honey.  He loved bow hunting and sharing that passion with his family.

He is survived by his eleven children: Debra Kay (Mark) Grussing of Montevideo, Teresa Marie Albrecht of Minnetonka, Yvette Suzanne Albrecht of Montevideo, Holly Lynn (Barry) Bryant of Bloomington; John Darron Albrecht of Montevideo, Jasen Wendell (Heather) Albrecht of Huron, SD, Chad W.E. (Stacia) Albrecht of Montevideo, Joy Caroline Albrecht of Montevideo, Grace Marie Albrecht of Willmar, Lane Joseph (Heidi) Albrecht of Willmar, and Cal Emanuel Albrecht of Montevideo; thirteen grandchildren; his siblings: Tom (Leanna) Albrecht of Montevideo, Priscilla Reineke of Alexandria, Warren (Annette) Albrecht of Montevideo, and Emily Evenson of Montevideo; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents: C.A. “Bud” and Ardyce Albrecht; his wife, Sandra on July 24, 2016; siblings: Carl Albrecht,  Layton “Tony” Albrecht  and Avonelle Johnson; brother-in-law, Tom Reineke; and nephew, Adam Albrecht.
