John Matthew Joyce

John “Jack” Joyce, of Clarkfield and formerly of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the Clarkfield Care Center at the age of 85.  Committal services were conducted on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 4:00 P.M. at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens with Rev. Donald S. McKee officiating.

John Matthew Joyce was born on May 6, 1922 in Montevideo, MN to Frank and Helen (Johnson) Joyce.  He grew up in Montevideo and attended Montevideo Public Schools. He worked for Zaiser Dairy in Montevideo for many years before moving to Minneapolis in 1971.  He returned to Montevideo in 1981 and lived at Parkview Towers until becoming a resident at the Clarkfield Care Center in 1996. He loved to sing and enjoyed banana bread.

He is survived by 2 sisters: Florence Black and Anita Joyce, both of Henderson, MN; a brother, Floyd Joyce of Bloomington, MN as well as by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters: Alice Sebber and Elinor Strehlo and by a brother, Thomas Joyce.
