John Worsech

September 19, 1929 — April 15, 2013

John Worsech, of Montevideo, died on Monday, April 15, 2013 at the Veterans Medical Center in St. Cloud at the age of 83.  Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 1:30 P.M. at the Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Marie Eckberg officiating.  Interment will be in the Stony Run Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 P.M. at the Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.

John Arvid Worsech was born on September 19, 1929 in Wegdahl, MN to John B. and Myrtle (Nelson) Worsech.  He grew up in Wegdahl and attended rural schools.  He served in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea during the Korean Conflict. On July 10. 1960 he was united in marriage to Glenda Enstad in Granite Falls, MN.  He lived in Wegdahl, moved to Watson in 1992, to Montevideo in 2005 and became a resident at Brookside Manor in 2010.  John worked for the Milwaukee Railroad, Mooney’s, was a custodian at the Montevideo Middle School and worked for Friendship Homes before retiring.  He was a V.F.W. member and had been a Golden Glove Boxer when he was young.  John loved to fish, hunt, raise pigeons, drive out to South Dakota, listen to records and watch sporting events.  He was a Trailways junky, was a  member of the ROMEO Club and loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by sons: David (and Karen) Worsech of Mission, SD and Arvid Worsech of Willmar, MN; daughters: Tracy Worsech of Willmar, MN and Becky (and Wayne) Ortloff of Montevideo; grandchildren: Lucus (Miranda) Worsech, Andrew (Coral) Wehrkamp and Nicole Wehrkamp; great grandchildren: Kylie, Zachary, Benjamin, Sylvia, Jael, Ananias, Averi, Angelina and Hezekiah; a sister, Arlyne Morgan of Willmar, MN; a number of nieces and nephews and a special friend, Sarah Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Glenda in 1992; two grandchildren: Zachary and Kassandra Worsech; three brothers: Leonard, Marvin and Charles Worsech; and by two sisters: Mildred Sticklestad and Lucille Morgan.
