Jon Borgendale, of Montevideo, died on Thursday, March 18, 2004 at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital at the age of 53.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 11:00 AM at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home with the family present from 6 - 8 PM and a prayer service at 8 P.M.
H. Jonathan Borgendale was born on March 28, 1950 in Montevideo to Leo and Brunhild ,“Bru”, (Olson) Borgendale. He was baptized on June 11, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo and confirmed on October 24, 1965 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church of Baxter. He graduated from Montevideo High School in 1968 and Concordia College in Moorhead, MN in 1972. On June 23, 1979 he was united in marriage to Diane Tammen at the Borgendale farm in Lac qui Parle Co., MN. He was a lifelong dairy farmer, was a former President of the Chippewa Co. Dairy Association and was Chairman of the Lac qui Parle Township Board. He enjoyed being in nature, listening to music, attending musical events, going to local sporting events, spending time with his family and being on the farm.
He is survived by his wife Diane; children: Laura, Anne, Kevin and Colleen Borgendale of Montevideo; his father, Leo Borgendale of Montevideo; a brother, David Borgendale of Montpelier, VT; a sister, Carol Lundberg and her husband Dan of Farmington, MN as well as by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Brunhild Borgendale and by his grandparents.
