Jonathan Winters, of Montevideo, died on Saturday, July 31, 2004 at the Chippewa Co - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 62.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Donald McKee officiating. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening and with the family from 5 - 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Jonathan Andrew Winters was born on November 27, 1941 in Montevideo, MN to Everett and Alice (Lyngen) Winters. He was baptized on March 20, 1942 and confirmed on June 5, 1955 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. He attended Montevideo Public Schools and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1960. On December 17, 1966, he was united in marriage to Beverly Engelke at the Chapel at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. He was a gas station manager for 22 years before working as a shop foreman at Flinn Iron & Metal for 16 years. He retired about two years ago. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and was a lifetime member of the North American Fishing Club. He enjoyed fishing, repairing lawn mowers, making fishing tackle, and being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Beverly; two sons: Alan Winters and Jamie Winters and his wife Jennifer, both of Montevideo; 3 grandchildren: Racquel, Marisa and Dain Winters; his mother, Alice Winters of Montevideo; 2 brothers: Curtis Winters and his wife Sue of Montevideo and Wayne Winters of Conway, AR; a sister Gloria Arends and her husband Dennis of Montevideo as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Winters.
