Joseph (Joe) Saboe, of Dawson, died Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Prairie Meadows Assisted Living in Dawson, MN at the age of 84.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 1:30 P.M. at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson. Pastor Kendall Stelter will officiate and interment will be at Grace Lutheran Cemetary. Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the church.
Joseph M. Saboe was born August 20, 1929 at Dawson, MN the son of Anton and Martha (Rasmussen) Saboe. Joe served in the US Navy. He was united in marriage with Margaret Robertson December 3, 1965 in Dawson, MN. They made their home in Dawson. Joe was a processing supervisor at Dawson Mills. He also worked for Dennis Boraas and then for Mike Thompson in later years. Marge died November 16, 1989. Joe was united in marriage with Patricia Eekhoff July 8, 1994 in Watertown, SD. Pat died November 7, 2009. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing.
He is survived by his children: Gary (Joyce) Robertson of Ham Lake, MN, Karon (Jim) Bachman of Blaine MN, Mary (George) Marshall of Rochester, MN, Larry (Linda) Robertson of Bloomington, MN; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his beloved niece Debbie Farmen and nephew Mark Saboe.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wives, Marge and Pat; daughter, Sharon Louks, brothers: Obert, Morris, Birdeen, Lester, Kenneth, and Berge Saboe; and sisters: Agnes Ness, Eleanor Kilgore, Alice LeNorman, and Esther Saboe.
We were blessed to have Joe in our lives as a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He always said how lucky he was to have us as his family, but we always knew him as a man who loved his family unconditionally and was always there for us. We were the lucky ones. We will miss you.
