Joyce Marie (Bosch) Stevens

Joyce Stevens, 60, of Montevideo, died March 17, 1998 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 21, 1998 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo.  Rev. Robert Ford  officiated and interment was at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.

Joyce Marie Stevens was born May 7, 1937 in Grace Township, Chippewa County, MN the daughter of Bernard D. and Ellen Marie (Lee) Bosch.  She was baptized at the Congregational Church in Grace Township and confirmed at Rosewood United Methodist Church.  Joyce graduated from Benson High School in 1955 and from the University of MN St. Paul in 1959.  She was united in marriage with Ronald Stevens March 23, 1958 in Montevideo.  Joyce taught Home Economics in Montevideo and  Maynard during 1959-65.  She also worked as a Home Health Aid and taught Health Occupations and Home Economics part-time in Montevideo during the 1970's.  She was a member of Rosewood United Methodist Church and currently a member of the United Methodist Church in Montevideo.  Joyce was active in church activities, serving on local, District and Conference Committees as well as a Lay Leader and District Lay Leader.  She was a member of AAUW, Wesley Foundation, Master Gardener, County 4-H Foundation, Homemakers, and Community Concert Association.  Joyce enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, reading, traveling, and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald; four children: Janell Johnk and her husband Michael of Murphy, TX, Jay Stevens and his wife Elaine of Eagan, MN, Marc Stevens and his wife Janet of Montevideo, MN, and Joy Kosak and her husband Michael of Olivia, MN; seven grandchildren: Kayla Johnk,  Nicole Stevens, Megan, Darin, and Rachel  Stevens, and Ethan and Wayne Kosak;  her parents, Bernard and Ellen Bosch of Clara City, MN; two brothers: Norman and Wilma Bosch of Montevideo, MN and Douglas and Barbara Bosch of Montevideo, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents.
