Judith Godwin, Montevideo, formerly of Ashby, MN died on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 75.
Celebration of life services will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 2:00PM at Peace Lutheran Church in Ashby. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 12:30 PM to the time of the service. Burial will be in the Pelican Lake Cemetery.
Judith Godwin was born on December 15, 1943 in Cresco, IA to Rueben and Norma (Todd) Kiehne. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Harmony, MN. She attended and graduated from Harmony High School. She was united in marriage to Douglas Godwin at St. Paul’sl Lutheran Church in Harmony, MN on December 28, 1963. They have three children: Andrea, Monica, and Jeff. The family made their home in Ashby, MN for 37 years. Judy and Douglas recently moved to Montevideo, MN.
Judy was active in her church with choir, bible study, WELCA and as a Sunday School teacher. She was active also in the community as a member of the Lions and Living Treasures Garden Club. Judy’s passion was gardening and cooking. Anyone who visited left with a handful of flowers or produce and a full stomach.
Judy is survived by her husband, Douglas; children: Andrea (Gregory) Miller, Eden Prairie, MN, Monica (Mitchell) Stueck, Montevideo, MN, Jeff (Lisa) Godwin, Elbow Lake, MN; grandchildren: Emma Stueck, Megan Stueck, Madeline Godwin, Aidan Godwin, Nathan Miller, Lauren Miller; brothers: Fredrick (Ramona) Kiehne, David (Diane) Kiehne, Neal (Mary) Kiehne; sister-in-law: Nancy Kiehne; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Reuben and Norma and brother, Larry Kiehne.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the Lions Club International Foundation.
