Juleen Larson

Juleen Larson, formerly of Montevideo, died on Friday, June 20, 2008 at the Appleton Nursing Home in Appleton at the age of 84. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 1:30 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Jay Grave officiating. Interment will be in the Big Bend Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening and prior to services on Tuesday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Juleen Elroy Larson was born on November 20, 1923 in Big Bend Township, Chippewa County, MN to Louis and Ida (Amundsgaard) Larson. He was baptized and confirmed at Big Bend Lutheran Church and attended rural schools. He served in the US Army during WW II. He worked as a carpenter for a number of years in Minnesota and in California. He worked for Tostenson Gravel & Tostenson Landfill in Montevideo before retiring. He has been a resident of the Appleton Nursing Home for the past six years. He was a member of the VFW Post in Montevideo and had been a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He enjoyed traveling and free hand drawing. He is survived by two sisters-in-law: Betty Siverhus and Adeline Larson; seven nieces: Deb Bowen, Linda Kissane, Lynette Larson, Shannon Bodehagen, Darlene LaViene, Cindy Larson and Julie Suchanek; ten nephews: Cleon Ost, Vance Ost, Wayne Lea, Alan Lea, Steven Lea, Larry Larson, Randy Larson, Dallas Larson, Scott Larson, and Mike Larson; and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers: Leo, Ingman, Joseph, Almer, Lyle, Lloyd and Elvin Larson; and three sisters: Alice Ost, Evelyn Anderson and Lillian Lea.
