Julia Hanson, of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, June 14, 2000 at the Clara City Care Center at the age of 96.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 19,2000 at 1:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with Rev. Paul Losik officiating. Burial will be in the Artichoke Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Julia (Sorte) Hanson was born on February 9, 1904 in Arena Township of Lac Qui Parle Co., Mn to John and Bergetta (Olson) Sorte. She was baptized and confirmed at Madison Lutheran Church, attended Madison Public Schools and graduated from Madison High School. She worked in retail sales in Montevideo for several years. On December 8, 1926 she was united in marriage to Reuben Hanson in Montevideo. They lived in Montevideo all of their married life. She has been a resident of the Clara City Care Center for the past four years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and her interests included flowers, gardening and reading.
She is survived by a sister - Thora Huckle of Appleton, MN as well as by several nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Reuben in 1986, 7 brothers - John, Melvin, Ingebrit, Wadell, Alvin, Burdeen and Oscar Sorte and by 2 sisters - Anna Olson and Sena Kastet.
