Julia Marie (Busch) Koopman

Julia Koopman, of Montevideo, died on Monday, January 19, 1998 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 96.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 22, 1998 at 10:30 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church near Montevideo with Rev. Richard Hamlow officiating.  Burial will be in Prairie Hill Cemetery in Fulda, MN at 2:30 PM on Thursday.

Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening and with the family from 7 - 8 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Julia Marie (Busch) Koopman was born on January 9, 1902 in Fulda, MN to Leonard and Mathilda (Dierks) Busch.  She was baptized on January 26, 1902 and confirmed on April 16, 1916 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fulda, MN.  On October 11, 1922 she was united on marriage to Fred Koopman in Fulda.  They farmed near Fulda until moving to the Montevideo area in 1942 to continue farming.  They moved into Montevideo in 1952. She has been a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo for the past 2 ½ years.  She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, was a member of it’s ladies groups and was a member of the choir.  She enjoyed crocheting, handwork and working with flowers.

She is survived by sons - Ronald Koopman of Montevideo and Fred Koopman and his wife Bonnie of Overton, NV; a daughter - Beatrice Stampe and her husband Vernon of Chandler, MN; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters - Elsie Meier of Fulda, MN; Martha Gunderman of Hoffman, MN and Esther Bahn of Jasper, MN; brothers - Clarence (Johanna) Busch and Kenneth (Verna) Busch - both of Fulda, MN; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Fred in 1974, a granddaughter - Carol Koopman Milburn; sisters - Ida Reimer and Amelia Fillman; and by a brother - George Busch.
She is survived by a son - Ronald of Montevideo; a
