Karen Batula-Trimpin

March 25, 1966 — December 10, 2019

Karen Batula-Trimpin died Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis at the age of 53 after a long history of complications related to diabetes and kidney disease.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, December 16, 2019 at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson with Pastor Kendall Stelter officiating.  Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the American Kidney Foundation.

Karen Joanne Batula-Trimpin was born on March 25, 1966 in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada to William and June (Anderson) Batula.  She was baptized in British Columbia and later confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson after the family moved in 1975.  She attended Dawson High School and then went on to Alexandria Technical College following graduation.  Karen moved out east after college and worked in numerous states for various families as a nanny for about five years while also working in retail.  She met her husband, Marc, while living on the east coast and they were married at Grace Lutheran Church on September 24, 1994.  They lived in Connecticut, Alexandria, MN, and Plymouth, MN before settling down in Albertville, MN.  Karen worked as a care giver in several Group Homes in the area before working as a paraprofessional in the Buffalo School System for the past nine years.

Karen thoroughly enjoyed cooking and baking as well as crafting, sewing, reading, and traveling with her husband.  She was a brave, strong, upbeat woman, and she will be deeply missed by her husband and family.

Karen is survived by her husband, Marc; parents: William (June); brother, Michael (Lorelie); niece, Nicole (Ryan) Hayes and their children: McKenna and Raleigh; nephew, Austin; sister-in-law, Chrissy (Kevin) Murphy and her children: Harry, Desiree and James; as well as other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
