Karen Mamer, of Dawson, MN, died Friday, April 8, 2016 at her home in rural Dawson.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church of Omro Township. Pastor Allen Lonnquist will officiate and interment will be at St. James Catholic Cemetery, rural Dawson.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 11 from 5-7:00 PM at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. There will be visitation at the church for one hour before the services on Tuesday.
Karen Lee (Anhalt) Mamer was born October 20, 1943 in Clarkfield, MN the daughter of Harold and Leona (Footh) Anhalt. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Omro Township. Karen graduated from Canby High School in 1961 She was united in marriage with James Mamer on August 27, 1966 in Dawson. They made their home on a farm in rural Dawson. Karen worked for many years at Johnson Memorial Health Services. Karen started playing as the organist at St. John’s in 1973. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren. She spent many hours playing with them and insisted on no cheating when playing cards or games.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; her children: Jason (LeAnn) Mamer of Dawson and Kris (Brad) Ruckheim of Parkers Prairie; grandchildren: Bryce Mamer, Megan Mamer, Alex Towner, and Courtney Ruckheim; a sister, Marilyn Footh of Bloomington; brothers: Myron (Darlene) Anhalt of Canby and Dale (LaVonne) Anhalt of Canby; brothers-in-law: LeRoy (Diana) Mamer and Bill Mamer; and nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Larry Anhalt; a brother-in-law, Earl Footh; and a niece, Sandra Footh.
