Katherine Viken

Katherine Viken, of Dawson, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at River Valley Health and Rehabilitation in Redwood Falls, MN at the age of 76, surrounded by her family.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Katherine was born in Dawson, MN on April 30, 1946 to Palmer and Irene (Hauge) Viken.  She attended Dawson High School graduating in 1964.  She moved to Texas for 18 years before relocating to Dawson in 1987. Kathy worked in the office at AMPI for 20+ years. She loved animals, especially cats, and enjoyed bird watching, knitting, and crocheting.

Kathy is survived by her children, Leisa (Katie) Evers of Redwood Falls and Kim Schacherer of Granite Falls; grandchildren, Jon (Rose) Schacherer of Granite Falls and Brandon Schacherer of Sioux Falls, SD; and one great-grandchild, Mara.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Palmer and Irene; paternal grandparents, John (Thea) Viken; and maternal grandparents, Lanford (Sylvia) Hauge.
