Funeral service was at 1:30 PM, Thursday, July 2, at the Johnson Memorial Home Chapel in Dawson with Pastor Herbert Rotunda officiating; reflections of Kathryn were given by nephew, Mark and Deb Breberg and Mary Helgeson; Florence Gebur accompanied the congregation in singing "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Rock of Ages"; Dean Pearson, accompanied on the piano by wife, Joyce sang "In the Garden"; and oboist, nephew, Mark Christianson played "Beyond the Sunset." Phyllis Anderson, Florence Craigmile, Evie Lende, Ellas Lindseth and Grace Lysholm were honorary casketbearers and the active casketbearers were Mark Christianson, Rueben Christianson, Deborah Breberg, Dale Breberg, Mary Helgeson and Melissa Standahl. Burial was in the Dawson Cemetery. Kathryn Ann Christianson was born on April 4, 1919, the daughter of H.O. (Henry) and Nina (Larson) Christianson. She was baptized and confirmed and a life-time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Dawson. She had been an active member in the church, having served as Sunday School secretary and treasurer for over 25 years. She attended elementary and high school in the Dawson Public Schools, where she graduated in 1938. She then worked for her father for many years, who, for 56 years, was the owner of the H.O. Christianson Implement. She was a very friendly person who enjoyed helping others. She also enjoyed reading and doing embroidery work in her earlier years. She moved from her home to Pleasant View Apartments, then to Prairie Meadows Assisted Living, and on May 29, 2009, she entered the Johnson Memorial Home. She died suddenly early Sunday morning, June 28, 2009, at the age of 90 years, 2 months and 24 days. Kathryn is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Christianson of Waban, Massachusetts; nephew, Mark (Mardith) Christianson and their children, Andrew and Caroline of Olney, Maryland; special family friends, Deb & Dale Breberg family and Rosie Lee; cousins, other family and her many friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; infant sister, Barbara Elizabeth; and brother, James Christianson on July 15, 1986.
