Kay Hoff

December 18, 1938 — January 21, 2007

Kay Hoff, of rural Montevideo, died on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 68.  Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 10:30 AM at the Watson Lutheran Church with Rev. Larry Olson officiating.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening with the family present  from 4:30 - 6:30  PM and with a prayer service at 6:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Kay Beverly (Erlandson) Hoff was born on December 18, 1938 in Dawson, MN to Ervin and Helen (Lund) Erlandson.  She was baptized in the Lutheran Faith in Dawson and graduated from Dawson High School in 1956.  On November 16, 1960 she was united in marriage to Russell Hoff at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson.  After a short stay in Montevideo, they moved to Watson, MN, where they lived for about 20 years.  In 1980 they moved to their farm in rural Montevideo.  She worked at a number of places including: REC, Innovex, Young America and delivery of the Star Advisor. In May of 2006 she began an 8 month battle with brain cancer with several treatment locations including the past 3 weeks at the Luther Haven Nursing Home.  She was a member of the Watson Lutheran Church and had been a 4 - H leader.  She enjoyed antiques, going to auctions, was an avid Minnesota sports fan and collected salt & pepper shakers, depression glass, and  teacups and saucers. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband Russell; three children: Barbara Ward and her husband Dennis of Montevideo, Julie Salitros and her husband Christopher of Andover, MN and Trisha Kraemer and her husband Jason of Melrose, MN; and three grandchildren: Cayman and Tiera Salitros and Avery Kraemer.

She was preceded by her father, Ervin and a son Mark three weeks apart in 1974 and by her mother Helen in 1995.
