Ken Kalstrom, of Willmar, formerly of Montevideo, died on Friday, August 18, 1995 at the Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Mn. at the age of 75. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday August 22 at 11:00 A.M. at Redemer Lutheran Church in Willmar with Rev. Emmanuel Bloomquist and Rev. Robert Westad officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
J. Kenneth Kalstrom was born on April 28, 1920 in Chippewa Co., Minnesota to Oscar and Inga Kalstrom. He was baptized at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan, Mn. and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. He attended Milan and Montevideo Public Schools and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1939. He was united in marriage to Patricia Garbe on June 18, 1949 in Montevideo. He attended the University of Minesota in Minneapolis ands Windom College in Montevideo. He lived in Montevideo until 1978, in Watertown, SD until 1991, and was currently living in Willmar, Mn. He worked for Archer Daniels-Midland / Olin Corp. for 40 years before retiring in 1984. He was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo and was currently a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar.
He is survived by his wife - Pat; by daughters Holly Gilbertson and her husband Tom of Montevideo; and Heidi Kalstrom of St. Paul,MN; by a son - Jonathan Kalstrom and his wife Linda of Minneapolis,MN; by grandchildren - Shane, Brett, Crystal, and Drew Gilbertson; and by a sister-in-law - Jeanine Kalstrom of Glenwood, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother - Roger.
