Kenneth Amborn, 75, of Montevideo died February 7, 2000 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2000 at 4:00 P.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Fr. Jerry Paulson will preside and burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Kenneth Lawrence Amborn was born August 5, 1924 at Watertown, MN the son of Robert and Kathryn (Goeller) Amborn. He graduated from high school in Watertown. Kenneth served in the US Navy during WW II. He was united in marriage with Beverly Gottsleben June 27, 1951 at Graceville, MN. He operated a bar in Graceville before moving to Montevideo in the early 1950's. He operated Ken’s Den in Montevideo until retiring in 1988. He was a member of V.F.W. and the American Legion. Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, and dancing.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly of Montevideo, MN; four children: Kathy O’Brien of Minneapolis, MN, Keith Amborn and his wife Becky of Montevideo, MN, Karen Strand of Phoenix, AZ, and Kevin Amborn and his wife Michele of Montevideo, MN; seven grandchildren: Nick, Tim, and Charlynn Amborn, Shannon O’Brien, and Michael, Kaylie and Kelsey Amborn; one brother, Robert Amborn and his wife Helen of Grand Rapids, MN; and one sister, Pauline “Sis” Griep and her husband Erv of Pine River, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jim Amborn.
