Kenneth Anderson died Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 91.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 1:30 PM at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Donald S. McKee will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-7:00 PM at the Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 6:30 PM.
Kenneth Winfred Anderson was born October 10, 1923 in Montevideo, MN to John and Hilda (Hanson) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1942. Kenny served in the Navy Air Force during WW II. He was united in marriage with Helen Thorsen April 7, 1945 in Montevideo. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with an Associate degree in Mortuary Science and returned to Montevideo to join the family business. Kenny was very involved with all aspects of the funeral home including the ambulance service which they provided for the community until the late 1960's. He served as the civil defense director for Chippewa County, served on the Montevideo Volunteer Fire Dept., and was very active at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. He helped his wife with her stained glass business for many years. They enjoyed 70 years of marriage and loved to travel.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; two children: Ralph (and Myra) Anderson of Montevideo and Judy (and Leon) Titche of West Lafayette, IN; three grandchildren: Ross Anderson, Melissa (Erik) Perkins, and Jennifer Titche; two great-grandchildren: Miles and Paloma; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Arnold C. Anderson; a sister, Cordelia Hegstrom and by an infant sister.
