Kenneth Dale Broberg, age 50, of Dawson, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2009, at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson. Memorial service was at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 19, at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home with Hospice Chaplain, Sister Vivian Petersen officiating; "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "He's Got the Whole World In His Hands were sung and recordings of "I Will Rise", "Amazing Grace" and "Come Journey With Me" were played." Kenneth was born on July 26, 1959, in Litchfield, MN, the son of Vilas and Darlene (Schmidt) Broberg. He lived many of his childhood years in Litchfield. He was a truck driver for thirty years, traveling over three million miles in his career, even beyond "the edge of the world," according to his description. Kenneth was united in marriage to Linda Albaugh on August 19, 2000, in Dawson. After a long battle with Gardner's syndrome and then cancer, Kenneth left this world in the arms of his loving wife, to rest in the arms of Jesus. He is survived by his wife, Linda Broberg of Dawson; 2 sons: Kenneth Broberg, Jr. and fiance, Crystal Hanks of Monticello and Matthew Dehncke of St. Cloud; step-daughter, Doris Engebretson of Monticello; and 4 sisters: Diane (Daniel) Solbrack of Cambridge, Donna (Craig) Feil of Brooklyn Park, Roxane Mau of Butterfield, and JoAnn Broberg of Garland, TX; and several nieces and nephews, other family and friends. Kenneth was preceded in death by his mother, Darlene Maxson and father, Vilas Broberg; and sisters: Deborah Casey and Lynette Porth.
