Kenneth Davis, of Montevideo and formerly of Holloway, died on Monday, August 13, 2001 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 77.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, August 19, 2001 at 1:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Michael Briggs officiating. Burial will be in the Appleton Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday afternoon and evening and one hour prior to services at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Kenneth Alfred Davis was born on June 25, 1924 in Watertown, SD to Fred and Lina (Lowry) Davis. He grew up in the Holloway area and attended Holloway High School. He served in the US Army. On February 11, 1948 he was united in marriage to LaVonne (Bonnie) Chamberlin in Benson, MN. They resided in Holloway until moving to Montevideo in 1959. He worked for the Montevideo Street Dept. until his retirement. He was a member of the Montevideo and Appleton VFW and liked to hunt deer and bear.
He is survived by three daughters: Karmie Gilbertson and her husband David of Montevideo, MN, Koreen Firnstahl and her husband Jeff of Andover, MN and Konnie Berg and her husband Karl of Orono, MN; 11 grandchildren; one brother, Wally Davis and his wife Kathy of Baudette, MN; two sisters: Ruth Wogan of Alexandria, MN and Mabel Emde and her husband Fred of Appleton, MN; as well as by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bonnie in 1978; one daughter, Kathleen; one son, Kenneth, Jr.; one brother, Willard Davis; and one sister, Irene Davis.
