Kenneth Raymond Tubbs

Kenneth Tubbs, 78, of Montevideo, died Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 29, at 1:30 P.M. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Rev. Thomas Hanson will officiate and interment will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens

Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5-7:00 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.  There will be a prayer service at the funeral home at 5:30 PM Sunday evening.

Kenneth Raymond Tubbs was born May 30, 1924 at Montevideo, MN the son of George and Hulda (Norman) Tubbs.  He attended rural school at Dist. 33 in Rosewood Township, Chippewa County, MN.  Kenny served in the US Army from August of 1943 until November of 1945.  He served in the 91st Division, 316-Company C in North Africa and Italy.  He was united in marriage with Lorraine Evenskaas October 3, 1945 in Montevideo, MN.  Kenny worked at Monte Motor Sales and REC before working as a mechanic and foreman at Northern States Power for 28 years.  He was a member of the VFW and American Legion, served as a visitor for the American Cancer Society, was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo for over 50 years, and was a charter member of the Eagles in Willmar.  Kenny was always kind to others and helped with the care of his family.  He was a very loving husband.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; two brothers: Ernest Tubbs of Dawson, MN and Dennis (Luella) Tubbs of Turlock, CA; two sisters: Sylvia Lanning of Harlingen, TX and Margaret (Harold) Lundin of Edina, MN; one brother-in-law, Robert Block of Bremerton, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Dwight Tubbs; one sister, Nel Block; one brother-in-law, Ted Lanning; and one sister-in-law, Lorraine Tubbs.
