Kenneth M. Anderson, of rural Watson, died on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar at the age of 72. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo with Rev. Gwen Bohlke officiating. Interment will be in Morningside Memorial Gardens in Coon Rapids, MN. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening with the family present from 4 - 6 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Kenneth Merlin Anderson was born on August 3, 1938 near Boyd, MN to Arnold and Agnes (Peterson) Anderson. He was baptized at St. John's Lutheran in Boyd in 1938, confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran in Boyd in 1953 and graduated from Boyd High School in 1956. On June 28, 1958 he was united in marriage to Alta Payne in St. Paul, MN. He lived in N.E. Minneapolis most of his adult life, then Lester Prairie before moving to a farm near Watson MN eight years ago. He was a vending machine operator for Canteen Corporation of America for 42 years and had a home remodeling business. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Montevideo and was a proud member of the DFL, Lions Club since 1970, Teamsters since 1964 and a Hospice Volunteer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, raising his critters on the farm, and losing to grandsons in cribbage. His dogs Cleo, Beau, and Happy went everywhere with him. He is survived by three sons: Steven (Joanne) Anderson of Zimmerman, MN; Bruce (Joanne) Anderson of Blaine, MN and Roger (Leissa) Ward of Watertown, MN; eight grandchildren: Stephanie, Raymond, Jacob and Samuel Anderson; Cesar Meza; Carla Rodriguez; and Amanda and Nicole Ward; brothers: Alton, Jim, and Lynn; sisters: Margaret Tschoekofske, Ruth Cornelius, June Hankins, Donna Buseman, Marlys Neiderer, Carol Roberts and Janice Anderson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Alta in 1995; a sister, Doris Patzwald; brothers Allen and Donald.
