Kevin Ray Fossell was born on November 20, 1959 in Montevideo, MN to Glenn and Temple (Arneson) Fossell. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo. He was a very sick child, surviving meningitis and numerous other childhood diseases. As he was growing up, he was active in the Scouting Program. As a Cub Scout, he reached their highest rank - Webelos Arrow of Light. As a Boy Scout in Troop 557, he received his Eagle Scout Award in 1977 and served as a Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow, first as an Ordeal Member, then Brotherhood Member and in 1980 elected to the Vigil Honor. While in the Order of the Arrow, Kevin also served as staff and a member of the Ceremonial Tram. He attended Montevideo Public Schools, graduating from Montevideo High School in 1979. In 1981 he graduated from Granite Falls Vo-Tech with a degree in Electronics. He worked in the metro area for Control Data. Following the sale of Control Data, he moved back to Montevideo and went to work for Jennie-O, first in Willmar and later in Montevideo. Upon semi-retirement, Kevin became a caretaker, first for his father and more recently for his mother.
He is survived by his mother, Temple Fossell of Montevideo; two sisters: Marlys Fossell of Montevideo and Sharon (Woodrow) of Bloomington, MN; a brother, Thomas Fossell of Montevideo; an uncle, Norman (Loretta) Arneson of Park Rapids, MN; an aunt, Irene Arneson of Henderson, NV; a number of nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Fossell in 2002 and a sister-in-law, Jacque Fossell in 2011, as well as by his grandparents.
