Laura June (Erickson) Mcfarling

Laura Heideman McFarling, formerly of Montevideo, died on April 16, 1998 at the Hospice Care Center in Longview, Washington at the age of 81.

Memorial services will be conducted on Monday, May 4, 1998 at 2:00 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Warren Broughton officiating.  Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.  Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Laura June Erickson McFarling was born on June 3, 1916 on a farm in Chippewa County, Minnesota to Lawrence and Hattie (Sprangle) Erickson.  She was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  In 1932 she was united in marriage to John Heideman and together they had six children.  The lived in Montevideo until moving to Minneapolis, MN in the early 1960's.  Laura moved to Washington in 1967 and was united in marriage to Floyd McFarling in Kelso, WA in 1968. She worked as a licensed real estate agent at Kennedy Realty before retiring in 1985. She was a talented oil painter and enjoyed traveling, reading, bird watching and flowers.

She is survived by two sons: Robert Heideman and his wife Delores of Longview, WA and James Jay Heideman of Kelso, WA; four daughters: Peg Harris and her husband Jim of Anoka, MN, Sharon Schuler and her husband Howard of Granite Falls, MN, Deanna Miller and her husband Bill of St. Paul, MN, and Pamela Jean Heideman of Kelso, WA; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Wayne K. Erickson and his wife Vernice of Montevideo,MN and Gordon Erickson and his wife Keta of Des Moines, IA; as well as by numerous of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd in 1986; five brothers: Lyndon, Shirley, Everett, Floyd, and Alton Erickson; and one sister, Cora Mannion.
