Lawrence Jacobs, Jr.

Lawrence Jacobs, Jr., Big Bend, died on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital at the age of 86.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 25, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Big Bend Lutheran Church.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Lawrence Jacobs, Jr. was born at home September 7, 1932 in Big Bend to Lawrence and Eunice (Golden) Jacobs.  He attended school in Appleton.  He was united in marriage to Venoie  Paulson on April 12, 1952 in Webster, SD.  They lived all of their married life in the Big Bend area and raised four children: Tom, Lisa, Lori and Lois.  Lawrence worked as a well driller and was committed to working hard for his family.

Lawrence was a member of Big Bend Lutheran Church.  When he was not working he enjoyed watching all kinds of sports.  Most of all Lawrence enjoyed his family.  Time spent with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren offered much love and laughter for Lawrence and the family.

Lawrence is survived by his children: Tom Jacobs, Big Bend, Lisa (Lyle) Larson, Big Bend, Lori (Jerry) Brustuen, Lake Lillian, Lois (Bob) Arnold, Appleton; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister: Dorothy Nissen;  sisters-in-law: Ina Mae Johnson, Nancy Undlin; as well as extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Venoie Jacobs; grandson: Paul Larson;  sisters: Leona Payne, Bonnie Payne; father and mother-in-law: Elmer and Esther Paulson, brothers-in-law: Russell Payne, Clinton, Payne, Alvin Nissen Sr., Merle Johnson, Byron Undlin and Elwood Paulson.
