Lawrence C. Larson, of Montevideo, died on Thursday, May 24, 2001 at the Chippewa Co - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 86.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, May 27, 2001 at 3:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church of rural Watson, MN with Rev. Gregory Gabriel officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday afternoon and evening and with the family from 7 - 8 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and for one hour prior to services at the church.
Lawrence Clifford Larson was born on October 31, 1914 in Mandt Township of Chippewa County, MN to Ludvig and Olava (Svea) Larson. He was baptized on December 3, 1914 and confirmed on September 29, 1929 at Jevnaker Lutheran Church. He attended rural schools in Chippewa County. On July 8, 1933 he was united in marriage to Florence Teigen in Watson, MN. Following her death in 1962, he was united in marriage to Jeanette Borns at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Center, MN. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in Chippewa County, on the Alcan highway and in Minneapolis from 1963 until retiring and moving back to Chippewa County in 1980. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding a golf cart, playing cards and keeping up on what his children and grandchildren were doing.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; eight children: LaVerne Larson of Kellogg, MN, Wallace Larson and his wife Audrey of Mound, MN, Allan Larson and his wife Marge of Mound, MN, Delane Larson and his wife Pat of Coon Rapids, MN, Adelle Lamo and her husband Helge of Minneapolis, MN, Arlyce Mahlberg and her husband Arthur of Duluth, MN, Danny Larson and his wife Lorraine of Watson, MN, and Leon Larson and his wife Patsy of Oshkosh, WI; 28 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Orice Larson and his wife Vivian and Vernon Larson and his wife Ella of Montevideo, MN; one son-in-law, Albert Kashmark of Watson, MN; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Florence in 1962; three sons: Gary and Dean Larson and one son in infancy; one daughter, Arlene Kashmark; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a daughter-in-law, Connie Larson..
