Lawrence Eugene Mix

December 24, 1930 — September 1, 1999

Lawrence Eugene Mix was born December 24, 1930 in Lidgerwood, North Dakota, to Muriel and Blanche (Webb) Mix.  He worked with his dad on the farm and in 1949, enlisted in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1955.  For wounds received in action in Korea, he received the Purple Heart.
On December 30, 1952, he was united in marriage to Leona Fosse at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Dawson by Rev. Otterstad.  Five children were born to this union.
He had been employed at Dawson Mills from 1956 until 1988, when for health reasons, he had to retire.
Larry was a member of the Strand-Saboe V.F.W. Post and Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson.  He enjoyed his time at family gatherings and his daily morning ride with his faithful companion, 'Imp'.
After a month's hospitalization, Larry passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 1999, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis at the age of 68.
Lawrence is survived by his wife, Leona; daughter, Murla (Benny) Parrow of Dawson; sons: Eugene of Albuquerque, NM, Melvin (Glenda) of Montevideo, and Michael (Eva) of Dawson; 7 grandchildren: Audrey and Amanda Mix, Brian, Angela, and Amy Parrow, and Joey and Misty Bloom; brothers: Horace (June) of Nashville, TN, and Almon (Marjorie) of Great Bend, NY; sister-in-law Ella Mix of Fargo, ND; other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard; daughter-in-law, Dawn Mix and granddaughter, Charity Mix; mother-in-law, Helen Roggenbuck; brother, Ronald Mix; niece, Wanda Hunter, nephew, Merle Mix, and aunts and uncles.
