Lee Bergo, of Montevideo, died on Sunday, October 1, 2006 at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 55.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 6, 2006 at 1:30 PM at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Donald S. McKee officiating. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening with the family being present from 6-7:30 PM and a prayer service at 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Lee Robert Bergo was born on November 18, 1950 in Montevideo, MN to Robert “Bud” and Erna (Christenson) Bergo. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Montevideo, where he was a life-long member. He attended rural school in District 291 and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1969. While in high school he played football and was a wrestler. He worked on road construction for Minnesota Valley for a number of years before he began farming in Rosewood Township. Because of health issues he had cut back on some of his farming duties and did some security work and was currently doing maintenance at McDonalds. He also was the care giver for his father for a number of years before his father’s death last year. He had been an usher at his church, a member of Ducks Unlimited, NRA, Pheasants Forever and the NFO. He liked to play cards, loved gardening, cooking and canning, was a passionate hunter and loved to visit with friends and family.
He is survived by two sisters: Jean Kutz and her husband Richard of Burnsville, MN and Linda Walstrom of St. Cloud, MN; one niece; four nephews; and numerous grand nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother Erna in 1995 and his father Robert in 2005.
