Eileen “Lee” Rudell Klosterboer was born on December 11, 1930 in Montevideo, the daughter of Arthur and Olga (Rear) Raffelson.  She was baptized and confirmed. Lee went to school in Montevideo through the 9th grade and graduated from high school in La Jolla, CA in 1948. After graduation she worked at San Diego Gas and Electric until she moved back to Montevideo where she met Andy.  Lee was united in marriage with Andrew Tony Klosterboer on November 14, 1952 at the parsonage in Watson, MN. Two children were born of their union, Kristi and Ricky.  They raised their family on a farm near Dawson, MN before moving to Montevideo in 1972. She was the secretary for D & R Repair for a few years, then worked at Western Printers and later at Jake’s Pizza.

Lee enjoyed sewing, gardening, many crafts including painting ceramics and decorating her home. She was an avid reader, she read numerous books and was excellent at crossword puzzles.  Lee was a competitive card player often winning any game she played regardless of her opponent.  She especially loved to play Buck, Canasta, Rummy or Bingo with her children and grandchildren. She was a loyal and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to watch Minnesota Vikings football and was her grandkids biggest cheerleader in their various sports and music activities.  She was also very quick witted and loved to make people laugh. Lee had a keen eye for fashion, never leaving the house without being “put” together. She was always color coordinated from head to toe even including her accessories.

Lee was known for her cooking. She loved to spend time in the kitchen preparing meals for her family and friends.  She has many family recipes that will be cherished and passed down for generations. Lee was a great dancer.  One of her favorite past times was dancing with her husband Andy. They enjoyed the jitterbug and  swing dancing to Big Band songs. Her brother, Owen, recalls they were the best looking couple on the dance floor.  Recently, she loved to watch Dancing with the Stars and could always spot the best dancers early on.

She is survived by her children: Kristi (Jim) Prestholdt of Dawson and Ricky (Tina) Klosterboer of Montevideo; six grandchildren: Megan Prestholdt, Jenna (Jimmy) Williamson, Marisa Prestholdt, Lea (Dusty) Williamson, Hana (Kyle) Gilbertson, and Tony Klosterboer; five great-grandchildren: Alexis and Aubrey Williamson, Nora and Andi Williamson, and Greta Gilbertson; two brothers: Owen (Sharon) Raffelson of Coon Rapids, MN and Norm (Cindy) Raffelson of Ponca City,OK; four sisters: Audrey Weber of Mitchell, SD, Judie Lewis of San Diego, CA, Sally Raffelson of San Diego, CA, and Patti (Gary) Nolen of Battle Mountain, NV; a sister-in-law, Kay Raffelson of Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Andy; a brother, Clayton Raffelson; and a brother-in-law, James Weber.

Lee loved her family dearly, she supported and encouraged them in all they did.  She was compassionate, caring, intelligent, independent and strong.  She was a wonderful lady that will be greatly missed.
