Leland Otterholt, of Montevideo, died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 92. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Big Bend Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held for one hour before the services at the church. Anderson Funeral Home of Montevideo is in charge of the arrangements. Leland Vincent Otterholt was born November 27, 1918 at Montevideo, MN the son of Emil and Genora (Kalstrom) Otterholt. He lived his entire life in Mandt Township and graduated from Milan High School in 1938. Leland was united in marriage with Carol Dorff November 12, 1944 at the Zion Parsonage in Appleton. They continued to farm on the family farm until moving into Montevideo in the fall of 2009. He loved to read biographies and history books. He also enjoyed having coffee with the guys and old farm equipment especially steam engines. He is survived by his wife, Carol; two children: Susan (and Robert) Kempe of Hopkins, MN and Daniel (and Joan) Otterholt of Casper, WY; three grandchildren: Matthew (Lena) Kempe, Martin Kempe, and Anna Otterholt; and four great-grandchildren: Margaret and Alexander Kempe and Claire and Grace Schultz. Preceding him in death were his parents and a granddaughter, Amy Lie Otterholt.
