Lenora J. Sweeney, of Minneapolis, died on Sunday, October 23, 2005 at the Walker Methodist Home in Minneapolis at the age of 56.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at 1:30 PM at Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church of rural DeGraff with Rev. Carlton Nelson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Lenora Jean (Nohrenberg) Sweeney was born on November 4, 1948 in Montevideo, MN to Samuel and Lillian (Zielsdorf) Nohrenberg. She was baptized at Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church and confirmed at Salem English Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. She attended schools in Minneapolis and graduated from West Sr. High School. In June of 1972 she was united in marriage to Joseph Sweeney in Watertown, SD. She lived all her adult life in Minneapolis. She worked at the Patterson Dental Supply Company in Mendota heights for 33 years before retiring. She was a member of Salem English Lutheran Church in Minneapolis and had been a member of Parents Without Partners. She enjoyed drinking Coca Cola, listening to Elvis and country music, visiting her extended family in the DeGraff area and especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Jason Sweeney and his wife Cindy of Minneapolis, MN; 4 grandchildren: Jason, Jr., Joshua, Justin and Kieara Sweeney; 4 brothers: Luverne Nohrenberg and his wife Shirlee of St. Louis Park, MN; Stan Nohrenberg and Alvin Nohrenberg of Minneapolis, MN and Daryl Nohrenberg and his wife Sandy of Cottage Grove, MN; a sister, Gloria Nohrenberg & her friend Rick Richardson of Minneapolis, MN; as well as by a number of nieces, nephews and grand nieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and by a nephew, Eric Nohrenberg.
