Lenore Olson

April 25, 1923 — May 11, 2015

LeNore  Olson, of Montevideo, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 11, 2015 at the Chippewa Co-Montevideo Hospital at the age of  92.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Tim Ehling officiating.  Visitation  will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.

LeNore P. Olson was born April 25, 1923 on a farm outside of Montevideo to Hilmar and Alma (Arneson)  Olson.  She graduated from Montevideo High School.  After working in Minneapolis several years, she came back to marry the love of her life, Paul M. Olson on April 13, 1947.  They farmed near Watson, where the city girl became quite an assistant farmer. They moved off the farm and into Montevideo in 2006.

She enjoyed getting together with family and friends.  LeNore was always cooking and preparing food for parties, those in need, church functions and homemakers club.  Music was a big part of her life, singing with her two sisters, leading the marching band, singing in school choir and in the church choir for over 60 years.  Teaching others about Jesus Christ was a passion of hers.  Church activities included serving on the building committee, Circle, teaching Sunday School and Catechism.  She would follow all her kids (students) in their music, drama, and athletic events.

LeNore is survived by her son,  Phillip (Linnea) Olson of Kennewick, WA; grandsons, Timothy Olson of Eugene, OR, and Brian Olson of Richland WA; a granddaughter, Sharon Olson McCardell(and David) of Pyeongtaek, South Korea; a one year old great granddaughter, Linnea Sunnae McCardell, and a sister Carol Kittelson of St. Cloud, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul in 2013, her parents, by  brothers, Hilmar, Stephen, and Paul David Olson and by a sister, Bru Borgendale.
