Leona Martha (Wolff) Willette

Leona Willette, of Montevideo, died on Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 95.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, September 27, 2002 at 1:30 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Ronald Hobbie officiating.  Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Leona Martha (Wolff) Willette was born on March 19, 1907 near Boyd, MN to Richard and Ida (Schmidt) Wolff.  She was baptized on April 7, 1907 and confirmed on March 28, 1920 near Canby, MN, and attended rural schools.  On January 10, 1924 she was united in marriage to Arthur Willette in Granite Falls, MN.  They farmed for several years in Montana and then farmed in the Montevideo, Clara City and Maynard areas before moving into Montevideo in 1951.  She took on roomers for many years, was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and loved to walk.  She has been a resident of Luther Haven Nursing Home since 1994.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna Radermacher and her husband Albert of Montevideo, MN; a son Wallace Willette and his wife Delores of Litchfield, MN; 7 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur in 1980; two sisters: Freda McNamara and Minnie Kiroff; and one brother, William Wolff.
