Leroy Mamer

LeRoy Mamer died January 27, 2020 at the age of 77.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 1:00 PM at St. James Catholic Cemetery near Dawson, MN  and a Celebration of Life being held at the Dawson Park at 3:00pm for LeRoy, his son Steven and his brother Bill.

Arrangements are with Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson, MN.

LeRoy Mamer was born June 5, 1942, at Canby, MN the son of Leo andMary (Hassing) Mamer.  He was baptized in the Church of St. Leo. He attended rural school and moved with his  family to Dawson in 1953. He was confirmed at St. James Catholic Church in Dawson and served as an altar boy.  LeRoy graduated from Dawson High School in 1960 and served
in the MN Army National Guard as a young man.  He was united in marriage April 20, 1968, with Diana Schuldt.  LeRoy was a farmer and truck driver for Moe Equipment for 13 years before he began his gravel business in 1973 from which he retired in 2018.  He was active in the community helping with the local Boy Scout Troop for many years and serving on the Dawson City Council.

LeRoy Mamer is survived by his wife, Diana Mamer of Canby; two sons: Michael (Wendy Mikuls) and David; grandchildren: Brittney Hendricks and Michael P. Mamer; and great grandchildren: Analisa and Jordan Mendoza.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, James;a sister-in-law, Karen Mamer; a son, Steven; and a grandchild, Ashley Halverson.
