Leslie Norman Danielson

July 17, 1909 — March 19, 2000

Leslie Norman Danielson was born in Dawson on  July 17, 1909, to Nicholas  and Inga (Tweeten) Danielson.  He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dawson..  He graduated from Dawson Public Schools and attended 2 years of college at St. Olaf.
Leslie and Arlene Lee were united in marriage on July 31, 1940, in Dawson.  To this union Roger and Ruth were born.  Arlene died on August 20, 1971.  He married Alice (Borgendale) Welch on June 30, 1974, in Dawson.  Alice died on February 25, 1999.
Leslie maintained the family farm after his father's death, living and farming in Dawson his entire life.  He was active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors of Dawson Grain and School Board of the Dawson Public Schools.  He served in many capacities at Trinity and Grace Lutheran, including President of the Council.  In his later years, he recalled several favorite stories of his youth, the most treasured being his opportunity to play basketball against the original Harlem Globetrotters, who toured this area.
Stub died at the Johnson Memorial Hospital on Sunday, March 19, 2000, at the age of 90 years, 8 months, and 2 days.
He is survived by his children: Roger (Louise) Danielson of Isle, MN and Ruth (Dan) Lee of Rock Island, IL; grandchildren: Elizabeth Lee, Michael Danielson,  Karen Danielson, Bonnie Ostlund, and Jeff Ostlund; sisters and brothers-in-law: Lorraine Borgendale, Gladys Boxrud, Andy Hendrickson, Ted Kleinsasser, Angeline Lee, Phyllis (Clarence) Saltee, and Lillian Simpson; several nieces and nephews, other family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Arlene, and second wife, Alice; brothers: Arthur and Kenneth; and sisters: Louise Best, Margaret Klemmer, and Helen Nelson.
