LeVon Hamilton, of Montevideo, died on Monday, February 28, 2000 at her home in Montevideo at the age of 72.
Memorial services will be conducted on Friday, March 3, 2000 at 4:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Warren Broughton officiating.
LeVon Genevieve (Gilsrud) Hamilton was born on October 20, 1927 in Montevideo, MN to Joseph and Thea (Helgeson) Gilsrud. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church and attended Montevideo public schools. She attended Beauty School in Minneapolis and worked as a beautician in Raymond, MN before being united in marriage to Wayne Hamilton on July 7, 1951 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. They lived in Sterling, IL until she moved back to Montevideo following her husband’s death in 1989. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed bingo and playing cards.
She is survived by nieces - Joy Jacobsen and her husband Jerry of Crivitz, WI and Kay Quenemoen of Montevideo; by a nephew - Scott Gilsrud of Redwood Falls, MN; a sister-in-law - Lolly Gilsrud of Montevideo as well as a number of aunts and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father - Joseph Gilsrud in 1968, her mother - Thea Gilsrud in 1974, her husband - Wayne Hamilton in 1989 and her brother - Harlan Gilsrud in 1999.
