LeVoy Christiansen, 77, of Granite Falls, MN died Friday, October 26, 2001 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital in Montevideo, MN.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 30, 2001 at 10:30 A.M. at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Wayne D. Kopitzke officiated and interment was at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens, rural Montevideo.
LeVoy Emil Christiansen was born February 17, 1924 at Wegdahl, MN the son of Fred and Selma (Milbeck) Christiansen. He was baptized and confirmed at Strombeck Lutheran Church, rural Montevideo. LeVoy attended rural schools and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1942. He served in the US Army during WW II. LeVoy was united in marriage with Rosella Barry October 10, 1948 at Swedish Lutheran Church in Hector, MN. They farmed in the Granite Falls area until the mid 1960's. He then attended Machinist School in Granite Falls and worked for Roger’s Hydraulics for 20 years before retiring in 1986. LeVoy was a member of the American Legion Post #69 in Granite Falls. He enjoyed fishing, flowers and gardening, camping, and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Rosella; two sons: Gary Christiansen and his wife Marilyn of Alexandria, MN and Ricky Christiansen and his wife Debra of Marshall, MN; four grandchildren: Jason Christiansen, Tammy (Steven) Placzek, Jon Christiansen, and Sara Christiansen; and one great-grandchild, Josie Ray Christiansen.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Freda.
