Lida Lorena (Williamson) Johnson

Lida Johnson, of Montevideo, died on Thursday, June 12, 2003 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 95.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 16 at 11:00 A.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charlie Bunk officiating.  Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Lida Lorena (Williamson) Johnson was born on November 30, 1907 in Elkhart, IA to Harvey and Maggie (Holland) Williamson.  When she was 3 years old, the family moved to the Maynard area. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo and attended rural schools.  On February 3, 1927 she was united in marriage to Oscar B. Johnson in Marshall, MN.  They had a milk dairy and clarified milk route until 1944 and then farmed east of Wegdahl.   She moved into Montevideo after Oscar’s death in 1976.  She was a member of Saron Lutheran Church and it’s ladies aid and was a member of Senior Citizens.  She had been a resident of Luther Haven Nursing Home the past 9 years.

She is survived by one daughter, Marilyn (Just) Guse and her husband Robert of Mesa, AZ and Montevideo, MN; three granddaughters: Susan Wischmann and her husband Merton of Little Falls, MN, Nancy West and her husband Butch of Granite Falls, MN, and Judy Blackwell and her husband Donald of Spicer, MN; 11 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandsons.

Preceding her in death were parents; her husband, Oscar in 1976; one son, Darwin in 1997; four brothers: Lorenzo, Cleo, Dayton and William Williamson; four sisters: Fern Anderson, Marie Williamson, Verda Williamson, and Annie Williamson and a son-in-law, Milfred Just.
