Lillian Campbell, of Montevideo, died on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 84.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. D.H. Baumgarn officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening and with the family present from 6 - 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Lillian Delores (Frith) Campbell was born on February 12, 1922 in Andover, SD to Harry and Alice (Voss) Frith. She was baptized on April 2, 1922 in Andover. When she was six months old, the family moved to Montevideo, where she was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She attended Montevideo Public Schools. On September 4, 1941 she was united in marriage to Leslie Campbell at the St. Paul Lutheran Parsonage. She worked at Johnnie’s Super Market, Monte Drive In, Watson Grocery & Locker, and Lanes Super Market for many years before retiring in 1997. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. She enjoyed her family and living at their lake cabin on Lake Ida for many years.
She is survived by four children: Cathleen Heggestad and her husband Wallace of Montevideo; Ronald Campbell of Spicer, MN and Lee Campbell and his wife Donna of Princeton, MN and Paul Campbell of Montevideo; six grandchildren: Chad and Jay Campbell, Jesse and Ian Campbell. Heidi Campbell Beer and Kristie Heggestad Eid; a step grandson, Steven Heggestad; and eleven great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leslie in 1979; and by a brother, Harold Frith.
