Lillian Nohrenberg, of Minneapolis and formerly of the rural DeGraff area, died on Friday, June 11, 2004 at the Bethesda Care Center in South St. Paul at the age of 79.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at 1:30 PM at Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church of rural DeGraff with Rev. Carlton Nelson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Lillian Narum (Zielsdorf) Nohrenberg was born on September 18, 1924 in Grace Township of Chippewa Co., MN to Herman and Clara (Narum) Zielsdorf. She was baptized and confirmed at Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church and attended rural schools. On September 23, 1942 she was united in marriage to Samuel Nohrenberg at the Saron Lutheran Church parsonage.. They lived in several places in South Dakota and western Minnesota before moving to Minneapolis in 1952. She has been a resident of the Bethesda Care center in South St. Paul for the past year. She was an active member of Salem English Lutheran Church in south Minneapolis and was active in it’s women’s groups. She enjoyed cooking, light needlework and gardening.
She is survived by 6 children: Luverne Nohrenberg and his wife Shirlee of St. Louis Park, MN; Stanley and Alvin Nohrenberg of Minneapolis; Lenora Sweeney of Minneapolis; Daryl Nohrenberg and his wife Sandy of Cottage Grove, MN and Gloria Nohrenberg of Minneapolis; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Samuel in 1987; a grandson, Eric Nohrenberg; a brother, Harold Zielsdorf and by sisters: Myrtle Smith; Latone Gillette; Helen Kisling; Adeline Wanberg and Caroline Armstrong.
