Lilly Ottilia (Wiegers) Lindblad was born on July 17, 1904, in Omro Twp., Yellow Medicine County, to Benny and Ottilia (Bittler) Wiegers. She was baptized in August of 1904, and confirmed on May 24, 1918, at the St. John's Lutheran Church, Omro Twp. She attended country school at District 44 in Omro Twp. She was united in marriage to Roy C. Lindblad on March 22, 1930, in Omro Twp. They farmed south of Dawson in Maxwell Twp. until 1988, when they moved into Dawson at their home at 284 3rd Street.
Lilly loved children, gardening and her flowers, crafts, playing the piano, and traveling with Roy in their motorhome to the antique gas engine shows. She was a very active member of the Redeemer Lutheran Chuch where she was a member of the Ladies' Aid and Homemakers. She now was a member of the Dawson Covenant Church.
Lilly entered the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson the summer of 1995, and Roy in the fall of 1996. They remained there until Roy's death on April 21, 1997, and Lilly's death on July 8, 1999, at the age of 94 years, 11 months, and 21 days.
She is survived by her sister, Emily Riediger of Clarkfield; brothers: Adolph Wiegers of CA, Karl (Della) Wiegers of Richfield, and Arnold (Ruby) Wiegers of Dawson; brother-in-law, Arthur (Eldora) Lindblad of Mpls.; sisters-in-law: Rose Lindblad of Madison, Muriel Lindblad of Mpls., and Marge Lindblad of Farmington; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy; brothers: Bennie and William Wiegers; and sisters: Anna Hveem, Emma Wiese, and Elsie Witt.
